This Tent Puts the “Glam” in Glamping

February 24, 2015 • By

I’m a bit obsessed with glamping.  I love the idea of staying in a vintage-style safari camp with all the luxuries – a bathtub for instance, and a cushy bed, and folding chairs pulled ’round a fire at night while my adventurer friends tell tales and drink something serious.   That’s glamping – or glamorous camping.READ MORE

Cityscapes and Car Windows

April 23, 2014 • By

Today I’m having fun with Passion Passport’s photo challenge on Cityscapes.  I love snapping a pic of a skyline or downtown street scene as my husband drives through a busy city.  (And to be honest, he lives for big city driving. 6 Classic Cultural Destinations on the Great American Road Trip (East)

April 1, 2014 • By

Vacation Rental of the Week: A Stone Villa in Greece

June 27, 2013 • By

As you know, I love renting houses, villas, apartments – heck, even barns if they’re stylish and fun – when I travel.  Here’s one I haven’t personally rented yet, but I sure am tempted!  This charming little home is called a “jewel box for two” on the Boutique Homes website.

I’ve become a big fan of One Fine Stay, and I’ve had good experiences with VRBO, AirBnb and other sites.  But I just found out about Boutique Homes when they started following my Twitter feed.  (Thanks!)

I’m impressed with the quality and diversity of their offerings – and I definitely hope to check into one of their small hotels soon, too. They have a separate section on their website for true boutique hotels around the world.
