Tour this Luscious London Micro Hotel

January 13, 2016 • By

Today’s stylish vacation rental is actually a tiny, two-guestroom hotel called 40 Winks.

(My dad used to always say he was going to catch 40 winks, just as he would lie down on the sofa for a nap…)

This lovely house was built in 1717, so it’s almost 300 years old. It’s quirky, eccentric and playfully glamorous. The kitchen is completely over the top!

Take a tour of this United Kingdom Vacation Rental with a Theatrical Vibe - 40 Winks. Grace, glamour, art, and design can be found here - so magical!

Vacation Rental of the Week: Clink Wharf in London

October 7, 2015 • By

It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for our Stylish Vacation Rental of the Week!

This week I discovered a luxury retreat in London Bridge, and I can’t wait for you to see it.

If you’re planning a trip to London, consider this house for your holiday home stay.  It’s stylish, sophisticated and located near South Bank, which is home to the Tate Modern and the National Theatre. Plus the home itself is full of industrial chic furnishings and epic views.

London Apartment Offered by OneFineStay

London Apartment Offered by OneFineStay

Staying in someone else’s well-appointed flat is slightly voyeuristic.  And somewhat freeing, too.  Choose a vacation rental and for a night or a week, you can live like someone else – an antiques dealer, a party girl, a musician, a banker.  You’ll eat in his kitchen, buy groceries at her local market and explore the neighborhood like a local.  READ MORE

Travel Theme: Gaudy

February 14, 2013 • By

Gaudy is an interesting word.  I think of it as a riot of color or pattern, and I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing.  On the other hand, I would never want to be called it!  When Ailsa over at “Where’s My Backpack” threw down the gaudy gauntlet in her weekly travel theme challenge, I had to think about the travel images in my portfolio that might fit the bill.  Two moments in recent travels came to mind.
